Echoes of a Dream: The Audition That Tested My Voice and Resolve

On this day 7 years ago, I went to audition for  #TheVoiceNigeria at Westown hotel, Ikeja, Lagos. A photo of a young lady at an Audition with a tag on her neck that reads "Rosemary Nwosu" I was watching #bbnaija  when I saw the advert and I said to myself "Rosemary, you are going for this audition, you won't miss it for anything". I looked forward to the event. I made necessary preparations. I rehearsed on my own. I had the confidence I needed to pull through. I dreamt everyday of how I became the winner of Voice Nigeria 😏. Fast forward to the much awaited day! This day came. I woke up very early. Took bread and Tea for breakfast. Got ready and my sister went to drop me off at the venue. We got there before 8am but the queue I met plus the scorching sun was enough to drain all the energy and confidence in me😓. What can I do naa?  I joined the queue and kept encouraging myself. I didn't get into the building until 12:00 noon 😢 with number 556 hanging on m

Triumph Through Pixels: Animator Delivers Delight on World Water Day

Earlier this week, I got a message from a colleague asking if I could create an animated video mimicking some key people in the office in commemoration of the World Water Day which happened today. As usual, I took up the challenge even though I didn't know how it was going to turn out, considering the fact that he had so many descriptions, imaginations and expectations. I was happy he came early enough to avoid rush or fire brigade approach. I started on Monday and by Wednesday, the job was only 30% done. By Thursday noon, I had achieved 45%. But the point is that, I didn't disappoint. I delivered 100% today beyond expectations. I went over and beyond. Let me just say I outdid myself. When he saw the final animated , edited and compressed video I sent him at the early hours of today, he couldn't hold his joy. He immediately messaged me that I beat his imagination, saying how he loved it. Today's world water day celebration/event was crowned with so much laughter and fu

"Nigerians are just more passionate about entertainment, than about their welfare" - Reno Omokri

Since the inception of Big brother Naija, the famous and biggest reality TV show in Nigeria, recorded massive votes from fans of the show with over a billion votes. Apparently, this didn't go well with Reno Omokri, a social media activist, and this is what he has say; "I am stunned that 1 billion votes were recorded for #BBNaija in 2021. Of course there were multiple votings, but this puts the 27 million votes recorded in the 2019 elections to shame. Nigerians are just more passionate about entertainment, than about their welfare".
